THE JUNTA’S DOOM

Everything is not permanent, according to Buddha’s Dhamma, Teaching, which reveals nature’s law. After come into being, one must cease to existence at a certain time. However, only The Buddha and His Disciples who attained Arahatship, the highgest wisdom, can know exact time of cessation. People, by examining past events with related circumstances, try to understand recent happening. The past events did not occur meaningless. They concerned with cause and effect. Ample evidence of the past guide people in interpreting present phenomena of humankind.

People want to come out from the situation of doom and gloom. They, Burmese people, are mostly Buddhists and are true believers of Kamma, deed, which means that present situation is a product of work done in the past; and every deed, speech and will – good or bad – produce the right result. Therefore they know that, if they had done badly, bad consequences are unavoidable though could be conquered. While trying as much as they can to overcome the difficulties, according to human nature they observe signs and symptoms which enact the end of evil days.

Hence, through empiric science, sometimes possible means such as even occult interpretation or sometimes applying Kammic law as well, the people predict the possibility of terrible fate of the Junta, end of their suffering.

There were striking examples in the past where evil conduct brought misfortune and demise. When the last King of Burma, Thibaw, ascended the throne, all princes and princesses of royal blood together with their mothers and children, total some eighty, were slaughtered in the cruelest form of striking their throat with club in successive nights. The Queen interfered in administration. She humiliated the ministers whom she disliked. Natural resources and state treasure were wasted by the King and Queen for their self esteem. People lived under poverty line. Many fled to the Lower Burma at their horror because of lawlessness of the Palace.

According to the law of Kamma, bad begets bad, misery and ruins. The monarch faced the disastrous consequences. Just over six years after the ascension to the throne, the King and Queen were captured and sent away by the British. It is here noteworthy that no one of their subjects brought them down to be ill fated. But their evil doing forced them out.

Similar circumstance has already happened. The Military Junta brutally crushed down at the every demonstrations, killed and seized many people whoever against it. Then, in the aftermath of the cyclone Nargis, 20,000 people were dead due to lack of proper warning from the department concerned and preliminary protection. Moreover, the Junta prohibited local philanthropists in distributing aids to victims, refused tremendous international relief supplies and effort. The conduct of the Regimes was tantamount to killing of the people. The disaster made by the Junta therefore was the depth of more than 150,000 victims.

The Junta is reprehensible for all bad outcomes which affected the people. In return, exertion of unfortunate events, with equal magnitude that the victims have already received, on the Junta is inevitably. No one or none of supernatural power can divert would-be reflection. The tumble down of the Junta is therefore imminent. However, when it will totally collapse is questionable – actually they are collapsing gradually. Ordinary people could not have vision for future. Therefore they use empiric science. They observe recent occurrence, look back to past events that should be referred as analogy of present phenomenon, and make anticipation of desired future.

In October, 1941, Burmese Premier U Saw went to England to ask for freedom. He considered that the trip was very important. Therefore, he paid homage to the Lord Buddha, but not by going to in front of Buddha image. He then worshiped the Shwedagon Pagoda in his private plane circling round and round above the pagoda. Sacred relics of the four Buddha who appeared in this world were enshrined in the pagoda. Moreover, there are so many images of Buddha which are deeply revered by the people on the pagoda platform.

Therefore he should go up to the pagoda platform, kneel down in front of a Buddha statute and pay obeisance. On the contrary, his style of paying respect is unacceptable for the Buddhists indicating that he seemed superior to the Buddha.

A person who is going to his doom does wrongly repeatedly.

The trip for freedom was unsuccessful. On the way back home from England, he met with the Japanese ambassador in Lisbon, Portugal to sell Burma for his personal gain. He informed the ambassador that he would help the Japanese as much as he could when they invaded Burma with the Thirty Comrade then under training in the Hainan Island. He betrayed his immediate master, the British. The message was intercepted by the British intelligence in Lisbon. He was arrested in Haifa and put into jail for more than four years. Again, within next two years he was hung for murder of Gen. Aung San and government leaders.

Similarly, Than Shwe and family attached the golden placard saying: donated by Sr. Gen. Than Shwe and family, to the golden spiral, the top most part of the Shwedagon Pagoda. It was built by celestial beings and human beings together more than 2550 years ago. Only later renovations were done by successive kings. No name of renovator kings and kings who left their valuable to charities to the pagoda were placed and written on the body of the pagoda. Now the name of Than Shwe and his family were placed around the golden umbrella of the pagoda, as being superior to all Buddha images on the pagoda platform, all human and celestial beings.

Evil conduct came one after another. He brutally responded to the mass rally killing several hundred people in September, 2007; he created the death of nearly two hundred thousand victims and other devastation in the aftermath of the cyclone Nargis, resulting in the utter grief of the Burmese people. For his nemesis, history has already uncovered U Saw’s path to him.

Actually, signs which represent their failure have been seen. Nature has already given curious premonition to Than Shwe and associates. The cyclone toppled from upper most part in most pagodas in the Lower Delta Region, symbolizing the very arrival of unfortunate event to the governing body. Furthermore, about half of all the very big trees in Rangoon have fallen to the ground being cut at the roots but without damaging people and their properties. Foretelling: the well established Military Regimes will be doomed to collapse.
