Taiwan announces pro-democracy task force for Burma

Taiwan will establish a task force under its representative office in Thailand to provide help to the people of Burma in striving for democracy according to the Taipei Times.

The Taiwanese Foreign ministry said in a press release that one of the task force's main functions would be to observe the political situation in Burma.

The task force is also commissioned to join efforts to promote regional stability, saefty and prosperity the release said.

Vice President Annette Lu said the web site to defend freedom and democracy for Burma received good reaction.

Taiwan has no diplomatic relations with Burma.

Dear Saya Lunswe,
After seeing the pictures taken at the birthday party of Than Shwe's grandson, I got an idea of boycotting famous actors, actresses, and singers who have close connections with this vicious dictator's family. I heard that Sai Sai Khan Hlaing is one of his best friends. How dare they (artists) be friends with this family? I am not surprised to see people like Yadana Khin and Eindra Kyaw Sin at the party because they have never had concerns about anyone except for their fame. There are two things we can do to those artists who do not recognize the pain of Burmese people. The first thing is to stop buying their music CDs, boycott their concerts, stop watching the movies and VCDs which they are in. We can target a few of those such as Saing Saing Khan Hlaing, Zaw Win Htut (in Ko Nik's blog I read that he is a close friend with Tay Za), and Ya Zar Nay Win.
The second way to boycott is not to organize abroad music tours for those artists. Zaw Win Htut sometimes have music tours to other countries like Japan, US, and Australia, and Burmese in those countries should boycott to his future tours.
